President Obama's Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan Urged to Resign

by rich swier

Members of Team B II, a group of highly accomplished civilian and military national security professionals, have called for the immediate resignation of President Obama's Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan at a press conference held at the National Press Club today, September 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

Former Reagan Assistant Secretary of Defense (Acting) Frank Gaffney and other former intelligence, military, and national security officials presented the case that, under John Brennan’s direction, the United States government has been effectively prevented from identifying, understanding and countering the threat posed to this country by shariah – the supremacist, totalitarian politico-military-legal doctrine that is the wellspring for Islamist terrorism and its “pre-violentm,” stealthy counterpart known as “civilization jihad.”

The latest evidence of the dangers associated with Brennan’s failure of his duty to know the enemy and its threat doctrine came to light earlier this week when Team B II member Patrick Poole revealed in a column that a known Hamas operative and unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history, Sheik Kifah Mustapha, was recently allowed to participate in a six-week-long, government-sponsored “Citizens Academy” hosted by the FBI as part of its outreach to the Muslim community. In the course of this program, Mustapha – a man tied to an officially designated terrorist organization – was escorted into the top secret National Counterterrorism Center and other secure government facilities, including the FBI’s training center at Quantico.

“Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan must resign his post immediately,” said Mr. Gaffney, whose Center for Security Policy sponsored Team B II’s recently released report entitled, Shariah: The Threat to America. “Mr. Brennan is, at best, willfully blind to the threat posed to the homeland and national security of the United States by those who adhere to shariah. In the wake of this recent episode at the National Counterterrorism Center, in which the FBI gave a guided tour of one of our most sensitive counter-terrorism facilities to a known Hamas operative, it is clear that the cluelessness fostered by Mr. Brennan is causing an empowering of the wrong sorts of Muslims in America – and endangering the American people. As the Team B II report documents, this is not an isolated incident. Rather, it is emblematic of misbegotten and reckless policies that can only be corrected by a change in leadership at the top of the Nation’s homeland security team.”

Shariah: The Threat to America was presented to Members of Congress on September 15, 2010. It offers a compelling and comprehensive “second opinion” on the dominant threat of our time: shariah. The authoritative report, which is based on six months of intensive study, takes inspiration from the original 1976 “Team B” report that challenged the then-prevailing U.S. government intelligence estimates about the intentions and offensive capabilities of the Soviet Union guided by the desire to promote “peaceful coexistence” with a hostile ideology through “détente.” The Team B II report demonstrates that similarly ill-advised efforts to “engage” the Muslim Brotherhood and other adherents to shariah, rationalized and promoted notably by Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan, are giving rise to a grave threat to Americans’ Constitution, national security, government and freedoms.

The full report on Shariah: The Threat to America will be available as a soft cover book in October 2010, and can be downloaded from the website www.shariahthethreat.com.
