Conclusion of IDF Humanitarian Mission to Nepal - imra

The medical team conducted 85 life-saving surgeries and delivered 8 babies; 6 Cesarean sections and 2 natural births.

Today, May 10th 2015, the IDF completed its humanitarian mission in Nepal. The mission consisted of 260 search and rescue and medical personnel and 95 tons of humanitarian and medical supplies.

The field hospital, which was operational for 11 days, treated 1600 patients suffering from severe internal injuries, fractures and hypothermia. The medical team conducted 85 life-saving surgeries and delivered 8 babies; 6 Cesarean sections and 2 natural births.

In order to aid the restoration following the devastation Israeli engineers surveyed 332 public buildings, in order to survey and asses the structural stability. In addition, mental health officers led workshops for education staff and the general population.

The IDF is committed, as it has been in the past, to rapidly respond in the face of natural disaster worldwide.
